Ninja Moves

Thanks for visiting! I started this blog to force myself to craft on a regular basis. Each week, I will post a picture (or two) of a recent craft I have made. Sorry it isn't very exciting.

Artsy Award

Apparently this blog was found Artsy by Grace, so thank ye for that! Now I must answer the following questions:

1.) Skirts or Jeans?
Well, I wear jeans more often, (and I have one, really comfortable pair) but I do enjoy frolicking around in skirts. And spinning in them. They are ever so much fun to spin in. And they're so pretty. But they're not too practical for cleaning the bathroom and things like that. Actually, the other day I was baking, and wearing a skirt, and I can now understand why there were so many accidents with skirts catching on fire when women cooked.
2.) Cats or Dogs?
Neither? Let me say I didn't mind either until I had a kitchen cleaning business two years ago, and there was dog and cat hair EVERYWHERE!!!

3.) Cows or Horses?
Cows. They are quite useful creatures, for ice cream, milk, cheese, hamburgers...

4.) Wood floors or carpet?
Wood floors. I like the way they look, and they are easy to clean. But an area rug on them does look nice, and is comforting to the cold feet.

5.) Rain or Sun?
I love warm summer rain. Freezing rain, not so much, but a rainstorm when you can run around and get absolutely soaked in a matter of seconds is unbeatable. Sun is lovely too, good for the pool, beach, sports... well, most of the time sun is good, but a warm rain is always welcome.

Now that I've just qualified all of those answers... I'm supposed to tag five people, but I don't actually follow any blogs save the one that honored me with this award and another one of her tag-ees. So I apologize. If you are reading this and want to be tagged, go for it- I tag you!

Earring Hanger

Okay, so not exactly a craft, but helpful nonetheless! I used to keep all my earrings in a bowl, but they always got tangled and it took forever to find a matching pair. Not having much patience for earring trees, I quickly constructed an accessible earring holder with a wire hanger and a wall hook. Its that simple. If my collection grows, then I can just layer another hanger above this one.

Three weeks, eep!

I am dreadfully sorry for not posting for three weeks. Life has simply gotten out of hand. Of course, that is why I started this blog-to craft when life does get busy, but I suppose my willpower isn't as strong as I thought it was...... Sigh.

Anyhow, I do make non-sculpey earrings, as pictured above. I am actually quite proud of these dream catchers, though they are kind of heavy to wear. I'll have to use a smaller ring next time. But they're made with supplies found around a crafty house- feathers, thread and yarn. Kind of tedious to make, but I really do like the result.

So I've been reading...

A lot. And I apologize for not posting for two weeks, life has just been kind of hectic. But I did make some book earrings in honor of all bookworms like myself out there! Read on!

Eat fresh

My best friend is obsessed with Subway, particularly the Italian BMT sub, so I tried to replicate her favorite sandwich in polymer clay as a (very, very late) birthday present. I didn't think they turned out too bad. She told me three people have already complimented her on her hotdog earrings. HOT DOGS???? Really?

Bacon and bacon and bacon

I made these for a friend named Bacon. Okay, not really, but that's her nickname ever since she got a sunburn on her arms that made her look like the delicious breakfast food. Now, with the sunburn gone, she can still have a way of remembering her name: Ms. L. B. Bacon.

Sweet as Pie

These cherry pies were also made with polymer clay. This past week I also decorated cupcakes with my friend to look like cherry pies, inspired by the pies in the Family Fun magazine, for our county fair. The cupcakes, may I add, turned out quite well, and looked much more like pies than the earrings shown above.
